What to Know
Life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance protects you and your family in the event something happens to you. Both are administered by New York Life Insurance Company.
How Life Insurance Works
Life insurance pays a benefit to your beneficiary if you die. You are automatically enrolled in this coverage at no cost to you. If you die, New York Life will pay your beneficiary $50,000.
How AD&D Insurance Works
AD&D insurance pays you a benefit for non-fatal catastrophic injuries due to a covered accident, and pays your beneficiary a benefit in the case of your death due to a covered accident. You are automatically enrolled in this coverage at no cost to you. If you die, New York Life will pay your beneficiary $50,000.
Designate a Beneficiary
Be sure that your beneficiary information is up to date. To designate a beneficiary or make changes, contact your Graduate Medical Education (GME) office.
