Use Your Benefits
What to Know
Welcome to your UC benefits. The links below will help you start using your benefits and learn more about them.
Find a Doctor
You can get medical and behavioral health care at a University of California Health Center (UCHC) or one of the more than 60,000 providers in the statewide Anthem Blue Cross Prudent Buyer (PPO) network. You can also see an out-of-network provider, but your costs will be higher.
Find an Anthem PPO Provider
Log in to the Anthem network to find a provider, view coverage and estimate costs.
Find an Anthem HMO Provider
UCSF, UCSD and UCR residents and clinical fellows: If you’re enrolled in the Anthem HMO, log in to the Anthem network to find a provider, view coverage and estimate costs.
Fill a Prescription
You can get prescriptions filled at either a UC Health Center (UCHC) outpatient pharmacy or an Anthem retail pharmacy.
If you have a current prescription, you’ll need to transfer it to a UCHC pharmacy or an Anthem network pharmacy. For help transferring a prescription, call Anthem toll-free at (833) 674-9256, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. PT.

Transition Tips
Transfer your medical and/or behavioral health records. Confirm whether your current doctors are in the network. If they are not in-network providers, you’ll need to find a new doctor and transfer your medical records to your new Anthem Blue Cross network physician. Your current doctor can provide you with instructions.
Review your member ID cards. You and each covered family member will get an ID card from Anthem for medical, behavioral health, and pharmacy care. (There is no ID card for dental or vision coverage.) Report any inaccurate or missing information to Anthem.
Use your member ID card. Be sure to present your new ID card when you visit your doctor or behavioral health professional, and the first time you get a prescription filled. This will help you avoid any claim delays or additional out-of-pocket costs.
